about Drive Safe Alabama

Keeping Alabama’s Roads Safe and Communities Informed

The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) takes care of about 11,000 miles of roads across the state, including highways and interstates. To do this, ALDOT divides Alabama’s 67 counties into five different areas, making sure roads are built, fixed, and kept safe for drivers and businesses.

ALDOT also focuses on being responsible, helping communities, and sharing news quickly. The Media and Community Relations Bureau in Montgomery, along with public information officers in the five regions, work to keep the public and news media informed.
